LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT  / CAMPAIGN TRAINING OVER 12 YEARS EXPERIENCE

Founded by Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA), TILE has been providing leadership development workshops and campaign training to African-American women for over 12 years.

TILE’s overall mission is to develop a system to create the next generation of leaders through a host of annual forums, workshops and programs. Over the years, TILE has trained numerous leaders through its premier four-part series Leadership University, along with one-day workshops including: Effective Advocacy, Running for Office 101 and Positioning for Boards and Commissions.

"I had the opportunity to participate in two TILE training programs.  Both, the "Leadership University" and Running For Office 101, provided me with new found direction and filled up my personal leadership toolbox with tools, resources and contacts I would have never imagined I needed.

From the trainings today, I feel much more prepared for anything and as a result I have became much more active in public service, management and policymaking via my two current county commissions seats.  The program has been a great investment of my time and money.  What was most beneficial were the introductions to a series of prominent local, state and federal elected officials and business, education and non-profit leaders.  In addition we had face to face time with a variety of campaign  consultants to discuss our future plans. As a community leader and future elected official, I learned more about the political arena and highly recommend either Leadership University and Running for Office to those interested in leadership development and/or have plans for public office."
